Alain
Jouan
A member of the Paris Bar since 1994, Alain Jouan joined Bersay as a partner in 2018 and supervises the firm’s Tax Law department.
Alain is a recognized expert in group regimes (tax consolidation; consolidated global income), transfer pricing, transactional taxation, restructuring operations (mergers, acquisitions, LBOs, etc.), as well as tax litigation.
In particular, he assists French and foreign companies in the management of their routine and complex tax issues. Alain’s clients include French media leaders, tobacco manufacturers, and passenger and freight rail transport companies.
Alain is a graduate of University Paris IX-Dauphine (DESS in corporate taxation), and of University Paris II Panthéon-Assas (Master’s in International Law and European Law). Alain speaks French, English and German.
Before joining Bersay, Alain was a partner at Deloitte (11 years), Price Waterhouse Coopers (3 years) and Paul Hastings (2 years). In 2005, he co-founded Vaughan Avocats, managing it for 4 years, before moving on in 2008 to manage DJP Avocats for 10 years.
In the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers, Alain was recognized by his peers as one of the best practitioners in “Tax” law.
